Flowers along the whole band, not a cluster on one side. From the front it reads as a crown; from behind, in the photographs nobody warns you about, it still reads as a crown.

Each hydrangea head is formed by hand from foam before anything is assembled, and then arranged along the band one at a time so the line never looks repeated. That is where the work is, and it is why this costs what it does — a motif on one side takes a fraction of the time and looks it from every angle but one.

The base is a slim 3 mm band wrapped in ivory silk ribbon. Three millimetres is deliberate: wide bands press behind the ears by the evening, and the whole point of a headpiece is that you stop thinking about it. With foam blooms on a band this fine, you will.

Choose how much detail you want. Hydrangeas only is the quieter version — a continuous line of ivory blooms and nothing else, for a dress that is already doing a lot. Hydrangeas, roses and pearls adds miniature roses sculpted from polymer clay and pearls set between the flowers, the same roses and pearls that run through the rest of the collection.

The details

  • One headband
  • Blooms arranged along the full length of the band
  • Base: 3 mm band wrapped in ivory silk ribbon
  • Hydrangea heads formed from foam
  • Hydrangeas only: foam hydrangea blooms alone
  • Hydrangeas, roses & pearls: adds polymer clay roses and pearls
  • Light ivory tone, suited to both light and dark hair
  • Lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear
  • Made by hand in our London studio
  • Ready to post in 3 days

A piece that won't wilt, kept in its box long after the day itself.

The same ivory hydrangea runs through the collection. The hydrangea and pearl earrings carry the front of the look, and the 9 cm hair comb sits inside an updo beneath the band.

Key Features
  • Flowers along the whole band — not a motif on one side. Every angle is finished, which matters more than brides expect once the photographs come back.
  • Built bloom by bloom — each hydrangea head is shaped by hand and placed individually, so the line never repeats. This is what you are paying for.
  • Two levels of detail — hydrangeas alone for something quieter, or roses and pearls when the dress can carry more.
  • A 3 mm band, deliberately — fine enough to disappear under the flowers and to stay comfortable from the morning through to the last dance.
  • Silk, not plastic, against your head — the base is wrapped in ivory silk ribbon rather than left bare.
  • Feather-light — foam blooms mean a full crown of flowers you forget within the hour.
  • Holds in thick and fine hair — the band grips without pins, and sits where your stylist puts it.
  • Ivory that suits any hair colour — chosen to read clearly against blonde and dark hair alike, and particularly luminous against dark hair.
  • Not only for the bride — bridesmaids, flower girls, and guests at an occasion that has nothing to do with a wedding.
  • Handmade in London — sculpted, assembled and packed by hand in our own studio.
Styling Suggestions

With loose waves or curls
Push the band about a hand's width behind the hairline — further back than feels natural. That is the whole difference between a hairband and a headpiece.

With a soft updo
Set it across the crown and let a few strands fall at the temples. The continuous line of flowers does the work that three or four separate pieces would otherwise do.

With a low chignon
Wear the band low, close to where the bun begins. Quieter, and closer to fifties than to bridal.

Beneath a veil
Fit the veil behind the band so it can come off at the reception without disturbing the flowers. Fine tulle only — a beaded edge will catch on the petals.

Against dark hair
This is where the ivory does its best work. If you are a brunette and have been told floral pieces disappear on you, this one does the opposite.

For bridesmaids and flower girls
The quieter hydrangeas-only version across the group, with the roses and pearls kept for you. Same flower, same ivory, clear hierarchy in the photographs.

Doing a hair trial? Send us a photo and we'll tell you where the band should sit.

Care instructions

These flowers won't wilt and won't fade. A little care keeps the ivory exactly as it arrived.

  • Hairspray before the band goes on, never after.
  • Hold the band by the silk base rather than by the petals when putting it on.
  • A splash or a few tears will not mark it — blot gently with a soft dry cloth.
  • Keep it away from fire, heat and hot styling tools.
  • Keep it dry beyond the occasional splash: shelter from heavy rain, and take it off before swimming.
  • Store it in its Deco Flowers box between wears, and avoid crushing it under anything heavy.
